Holiday Number 2, Coming Up!

2009 is approaching very quickly! You know, it seems funny to me how millions, millions, of people will go stand outside to watch a ball drop when they could be at home in their pajamas watching it on TV! I like New Years Eve better than New Years Day! On New Years Eve you get to watch the fireworks (Or is that the Fourth of July?), stay up 'til midnight (Maybe!), have the parties (Which we never do anyway), have way more fun than on New Years Day! It's fun to talk to friends and say, "I haven't seen you all year!". It's true but weird.

Christmas blues are almost over. It was worse today than yesterday. I feel kind of lazy today. I think I can have those once and a while! Mom was talking about maybe putting the Christmas tree outside on our porch. I told her that the pain was still too fresh! I really didn't want to! Two days after Christmas and taking down the Christmas tree. It's just not right! :)

Just finished making Snickerdoodle Pie! Umm! Deeelish! I made TWO! One is for our Sacra Family Christmas tomorrow, and the other is for ME! Just kidding, it's for all of us, if I don't get there first! :) In fact, maybe I should go get a piece now...

Merry 2 days after Christmas! O.K., I promise that's the last one :)

The Snowflake

There's a funny story that goes with the snowflake :) My Dad is always so accurate when it comes to anything! Some examples: guessing the exact price of a house, guessing one degree higher that the actual temperature (And right after he made his guess, it changed to match his answer!), he guesses everything right! Jenny and her friend, Ryan, had a 'bet' of when they though it would snow. Jenny guessed sometime in November, and Ryan guessed December 11. After Dad heard about this, he had to join. We all knew that Dad would win :) Dad guessed that it would snow on December 12 at 7:40 p.m. As the days crept closer and closer and we looked at the weather for today, it showed 20 degrees and 3% chance of precipitation. We all sort of guessed that for once, Dad was wrong. Dad just kept saying over and over, "You need to have faith, you need to have faith.". Well, 7:38 rolled around, and we all gathered outside to watch it 'snow'. Tick-tock, tick-tock. 7:39... And as the second hand hit the twelve on the clock... Guess what happened.

It started snowing.

HOW DOES HE DO THAT?????????

***I promise that I didn't make up any of this. Dad actually did say it would snow at 7:40 today and it did. I think it must be a gift :)***

I am done!!!

Yay! I am finally done! I have finished all my Christmas shopping and wrapping! Who cares that I practically wiped out my bank account? I'm done!!!

Notice all the nice gift tags? Thank you, thank you, I know I did a wonderful job wrapping all those presents. Please, please, no autographs (Can you sense any sarcasm here?).

Yesterday it rained. It wasn't a very hard rain, but nevertheless, it rained. My camera was practically begging to go outside, and I agreed.

I don't know why I was so obsessed with the clothespin...

That one has got to be my favorite!

What's missing? You know there has to be something. Keep thinking, it'll come to you! Yay! You got it! What's missing is Joelle!

From the angle I was at, it made Joelle look more like "Joelle the Giant" than "Joelle"!

This is it!

I FINALLY, and I mean FINALLY, found a good picture for my header that I liked, imagine that! Here it is:

I was getting a little frustrated about the whole thing, so I just typed in (On Google) "Blogger Headers". Now, normally that isn't such a good idea because you never know what might show up on Google Images. This time, however, I wasn't thinking about that. I'm glad I wasn't! It showed up with something like "45 greatest free header photos" or something like that. The free part really stood out to me :) You can click here for the link. I really like this site! I also like The Cutest Blog On The Block (dot com). That's where I got my background. I love that too!

So now that I have a new header photo, I can move onto more important things. Such as Kate's new Adobe Photoshop! Yeah! Hopefully, after she plays with it a little bit, she'll let me play with it! I'll tell you how that goes once I get ahold of it!

Don't forget to leave a comment! I always love to hear from you! Good-night!

Cozy, Warm, filling, beautiful Hot Chocolate

Sigh... On mornings where you just... can't... get... out... of... bed, this is what gets me hopping around. This is what pulls me out of bed. This is delicious! Frothy, warm hot chocolate with a little dab of whip cream and colorful sprinkles on top! Ooh, now you want some, right? My excuse for having 3 cups already today is because I have a cold :( It sounds really pathetic. When I laugh, I get choked up and *Cough! Cough! Cough!*. Yup. Pretty pathetic.

The search continues for a new header photo. I'll keep you posted!

This post is about...

... just about everything!

... the cutest little girl! Isn't she adorable when she's asleep (Don't get me wrong, she's cute when she's awake too!)?

... my fish Gilbert. I took a couple of pictures of Gilbert today. My family pics wouldn't be the same if Gilbert's picture wasn't there!

... the perfect kite flying weather we had today! Last weekend at the relief sale, I got Joelle a kite at the children's auction. It was a Barbie kite! Yeah! I love Barbie! Don't you? Sigh... Oh well, it flies pretty well. We had to add a LONG yellow ribbon to the end for the tail. It kept wanting to fall to one side. Finally once we got the kite up high enough, it flew... until it landed on our neighbors roof. I wish I would have gotten a picture of it, but I got my camera to late.

... how beautiful the trees are going to be this fall! While mom and I were taking a walk, I spied the first half-red tree on our cul-de-sac.

... a new shirt I made (I weaved it and everything... :)! I'm gonna wear it when I go to Jenny's volleyball games!

Front

Back

... all the beautiful sites around me!

This is the pumpkin I got from the relief sale.

Here are some mums (I think) that are growing on our front porch.

And here is the game that is driving me bonkers! The object of the game is that you have to get the 'bugs' colors, headlights and taillights matching. I got it once, and I marked the middle piece. The puzzle will only work one way. Confusing!

See ya!

A purdy normal day

I have a job! It's... you're not going to believe this, I HAVE A JOB FEEDING CATS! Doesn't it sound exciting??? Yah? Nah? Hey, I'm not complaining when 30 bucks lands in my lap for feeding cats for morning and evening for a week. Yeah, I'll take it. Besides, the house is just up the street. Convenient, right? Joelle got a new-to-her playset and saying she is absolutely excited would be an absolute understatement! I fixed it up really nice for her to play in. And guess what that means? "PLEASE play with me Emily!" I don't mind, in fact, I like playing with her, just not after she asks for the 10th time that day. I decided to take some pictures, so naturally, she had to come with me, so of course, took pictures of her too.

******Basket?******

******Awww!******

******Goodness!******

*And this is AFTER Joelle attempts to climb a tree. :(*

Happy one minute, sad the next. What ever shall we do with Joelle? Love her, feed her, never leave her! Sounds like a good plan to me!

Busy, busy, busy

Can you guess what my post will be about today? Yay! You guessed it! Being busy all day long! I tell you, it makes for a very long day. Shopping, shopping, shopping. Early this afternoon, we (Us girls) decided to go shopping. A perfect way to spend your Saturday afternoon. Apparently everyone else in Harrisonburg decided the same thing! I must have said "Excuse me", or "Sorry!" a million times! Later, we decided to meet my dad at Cici's to eat supper. Around 6:00, we were finally ready to eat. After supper, Katie, Jenny, Joelle and I decided to go into the arcade to buy rings. We found out that the rings were definitely not as cool as the little plastic farm animals!
(Keyword: Plastic) At first , 25 cents sounded like a bargain, but once we got around to Target... Let's just say that I got about 4 little animals (All adding up to $1.00) and I wanted some one dollar silly string. Anyway, I learned a lesson and I got 2 pairs of some really cool jeans for only $37.00. I'll be using the jeans more than the animals anyway. I already gave them to Joelle.

(P.S. I got 2 monkeys, a pig and a turtle at the arcade! I must say they are adorable!)

Love,
Emily

Somethin' Fishy

Joelle and I share a bedroom and we recently re-decorated it. We also added a pet to the family. His name is Gilbert Morris. And yes, he is a fish. Joelle is a HUGE goldfish lover, so when we got a goldfish, she thought it proper to name it Gilbert. I suggested Taylor, but no! We had to name it Gilbert. A very common name, don't you think? Nope. Oh well, she's only three and what are you supposed to do when a very stubborn 3 year old wants to name HER fish GILBERT! I really do like the name Gilbert. It fits a fish. Now that I think about it, Taylor isn't absolutely perfect for a fish. In a book I wrote, the main character had a fish and she named it Sneaky Pete. Don't ask me how I came up with a name like that, but that isn't too weird, considering that her bird is named Pepperoni. I must commend Joelle on her name-picking, but I wouldn't of thought about Gilbert. And besides, I just had to add Morris to his name because he is on my side of the room, right? True. I'm old enough that I probably shouldn't be worrying about whether I named the fish or my three year old sister did. I'll learn to grow out of it, but right now, I'm still 12, and I'm sure that God still loves me even when I do quarrel with my sister about small stuff, but I am still God's kid, and I don't stay mad for long. Have a good day! God bless you!

The small stuff

Last night at about 9:30 p.m., my little sister, Joelle, announces that her 'poor tummy' hurts. So, being the AMAZING sister that I am, went over to rub her back. (She loves for me to rub her arm with a key, but being 9:30, I wasn't carrying a key at the moment. Isn't that horrible?) Anyway, i was rubbing her back, when she asked me to hold her hand. I picked up the little hand and stroked it like mum used to do to me when I was little. Her hand was SO soft! It felt like the kind of butter you get in the containers, except much softer! I told her, "Dear, your hands are so soft!" I got a very tired reply, "It's because we went swimming." I couldn't help laughing a little. After about 5 minutes, she was sound asleep, but I kept holding her hand. I sat on the edge of the bed thinking about my hands. Wait. What happened? Oh well, a little lotion always does the trick.
Today we went to the Dairymen Specialty Open House. They were serving lunch and had lots of displays indoors. Some displays included coloring books, balloons and fly swatters, much to Joelle's delight. (We have plenty of flies around here, so she is very well entertained.) Did I mention they had macaroni? They scored a ten with me in that department!
Two days ago, I was reading in my devotional book, A Young Women After God's Own Heart By Elizabeth George, and their was a poem that I was to memorize. I read it about 3 times, and it just stuck. Here it is, and I promise I'm not looking! :)

Good, Better, Best,
Never let it rest,
Until your Good is Better,
And your Better Best.
I've remembered that for 2 days now so if I remember it that long, I should be good to go!
