My joy of singing
Today at church, we sang a song in praise and worship that I particularly liked. It's entitled "Here I am to worship". It intrigued me so much that I decided to post the lyrics:
Light of the world,
You stepped down into darkness.
Opened my eyes,
let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore you
Hope of a life spent with you
And here I am to worship,
here I am to bow down,
here I am to say that you're my God
You're altogether lovely,
altogether worthy,
altogether wonderful to me.
King of all days,
oh, so highly exalted.
Glorious in heaven above.
Humbly you came
to the earth you created
All for love's sake became poor.
And here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that you're my God
You're altogether lovely.
altogether worthy,
altogether wonderful to me.
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
No, I'll never know how much it cost
Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that you're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
And here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that you're my god
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful
wonderful wonderful
Yes you are God
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
I just LOVE that song! While we were singing it, I closed my eyes and prayed through the whole thing. After that I felt like I wanted to listen and learn more. Nobody was forcing me to do anything. The song really had an impact on me. I added the song to my blog playlists. I felt like I wanted to share how I felt this morning. I felt God moving through me and the people all around me. Another song I really liked today but I couldn't find the lyrics. The song was called "The River" and It was another favorite of mine. Thanks for keeping with me!

I, too, love that song, "Here I Am to Worship." I first learned it when we lived in Israel; it helped to refresh my soul which was parched many times.
And "The River"--what a great song, too! That one is new to me, but I've really enjoyed it and found it very meaningful.
Thanks for sharing your heart!
